Martyn Bullard uses Cole & Son’s Royal Fernery 113/3009 in this chic and glamorous in house bar. The gold hardware and details through out the bar really pop against the rich emerald colors. This entire design moment feels like the speak-easy you’d dream of finding.

This post from Schumacher Boston showcases a gorgeous monochromatic entry way featuring Cannes Awning Stripe in Denim, showing us that sometimes simplicity can really be the boldest statement. Paired with an equally bold geometric tile design, this space draws your eye all over.

There’s nothing better than an exotic and inviting wallpaper to add some dramatic style to your space.

In today’s post we’re highlighting a gorgeous minimal interior that uses gray tones and neutrals, but adds excitement with Matthew Williamson ‘Mughal Garden’ wallpaper.

Mughal Garden – Dining room

While it’s quite daring to utilize such a vibrant and colorful wallpaper, notice how this entirely white and neutral dining room setting really pops against the fuchsia, purple, and green detailing.

With the modern light fixture, this cozy cabin-esque living room feels more current. The Mughal Garden print also keeps it fun and interesting.

If pink isn’t necessarily your color, the traditional #1 colorway of Mughal Garden still adds vibrancy. The calm and muted greens and blues of the furniture in this shot keep the room from feeling over whelming with such a expressive wallcovering.

There are four different colorways available on our shop, so you can find the exact palette for your personal tastes.

Scalamandre is bringing you to Botany Bay

Scalamandre fabrics has released a new spirited print, ‘Botany Bay’.

The English Dorset Coast was the inspiration for this design featuring a refreshed 19th century English archival print of pheasants perched on robust floral branches.

The Black Ruby colorway of this Scalamandre print is deeply detailed. Warm golden and amber walnut tones emerge from the dark background to compliment the jade and grassy tones of the leafage.

You’ll notice small other pops of color such as sky blue and sapphire scattered throughout for extra variety and depth.

For those interested in a more traditional light-hearted take, the sky blue colorway is gentle and breezy.

The pale blue background surrounds the brighter more vibrant pheasants and the mixed olive branches that support the floral formations.

The Reeves Pheasant was introduced to England in 1831 by British naturalist John Reeves and has since inspired a multitude of English hand block prints, many of which are now digitally printed.

This beautifully detailed bird placed upon saturated florals and strong branches is a must-have for anyone seeking a modern intricate floral that is intriguing and striking.

Osborne and Little drew inspiration for this collection from Italian architecture and the deep and rich gem stones that remind us of royalty.

The combination of black and shadowed muted tones with the rich highlights of pinks, orange, and reds makes for a high contrast look that’s rich and velvety.

Opulence was a definitive thought in many of these luscious textiles.

Schumacher’s Summer Collection: Nautilus

In previous articles we’ve gone over blue and white textiles and nautical themes and how you should apply them.

In today’s article we’re going to be discussing and reviewing some of our favorite new prints and recolors of existing patterns from Schumacher’s new Nautilus collection.

This collection is definitely ocean and nautical inspired, but in tasteful modern applications that don’t leave you feeling like you’re in a cheap beach shack.

schumacher great barrier reef
Great Barrier Reef – 3 New Colors

Schumacher’s coral inspired print ‘Great Barrier Reef’ has three lively new color ways. The original three colors were a bit more muted and neutral, making these primary color ways pop.

The gold and pink coral prints hold true to natural coloration of exotic coral you’d find out in the wild. Thanks to coral’s natural formations, they make for awesome abstract wallcovering or upholstery.

Some of these prints are brand new so they aren’t on our site yet, but we can still help you shop them.

schumacher palmetto beach embroidery blue
Palmetto Beach Embroidery – Blue

For a simplistic fun Summer print, we heavily gravitated towards the ‘Palmetto Beach Embroidery’ in the blue color way. Something about these cute cartoon depictions of assorted palm trees is very appealing.

All the leafage is highlighted in a deep royal blue that gives the print some unpredictability and fun that any design moment could use for a little spice.

coralline by schumacher
Coralline by Schumacher

This last print ‘Coralline’ by Schumacher is an ode to the classic nautical stripes and rope motif that we’ve all seen millions of times.

What makes this print a little different is the attention to detail. Each column or stripe in this pattern is made of beautiful detailed swirls that remind us of the ocean.

In between is an intersecting imperfect rope detail that creates some nice natural lines because the formations it creates intersecting are not perfect, but differentiating.

A key part of the Italian riviera is the homes and culture surrounding it. Osborne and Little outdid themselves with the gorgeous detail of these non-woven wallpapers.

Compared to the actual photo of the Italian riviera, the ‘Portovenere’ print by Osborne and Little features a robust combination of warm summer tones accompanying the walls of the buildings and structures depicted.

The formation of windows and buildings actually makes for an extremely tasteful geometric print.

Scattered sparsely through out you’ll also notice some palms and greenery. This eccentric and vibrant wallpaper gives a space more depth, we love how it looks with these modern desert accessories.

Black and White Done Right

Black is the darkest color, the result of the absence or complete absorption of visible light, while white is the opposite of black, it is a collection of all colors of light, resulting in what we know as white. The power of these two colors presented together is an extremely high contrast combination. However, due to the high contrast, the colors provide balance to each other.

We’ve seen through out time many applications such as the yin-yang symbol representing the balance of light and dark. It’s said that “opposites attract.” To put it another way: contrast creates completion. The convergence of black and white (more so than many other color combinations) is an example of how two divergent colors communicate more powerfully together than they do on their own.

Which is exactly why we’ve compiled some extraordinary black and white textiles from our collections that will help your design moments be distinct.

ROBERT ALLEN - Phantom Manor
ROBERT ALLEN – Phantom Manor

The first of our four fabrics we’ll be discussing is the Robert Allen textile: Phantom Manor. This pattern depicts some wild flowers scattered through out the print, leaving small white areas of negative space in between to relieve the eye. The majority of the flower’s form is also white, to ensure this print isn’t too dark. The black tipped petals overlapping each other on the flowers creates some nice geometric eye-candy. We love this textile for an outdoor upholstery moment, or a fun way to add some outdoor accent to a traditional indoors space such as the living room or foyer.

Designer’s Guild Wallpaper: Essence of Spring

designers guild wallpapers

We’re at the turn of a season, Spring is coming to a near close as Summer approaches. With thoughts of somber rain clouds, and tranquil showers leading to delicate blooms these five Designer’s Guild wallpapers genuinely capture the perfect essence of Spring. Featuring soft white and gray tones, as well as deep and lighter hues of ultra violet.

Beginning with the showers, Delahaye Zinc, and Corneille Fuchsia represent the velvety gray clouds of April. Delahaye Zinc uses abstract paint formations ranging from white and gray speckles to dramatic strokes and drizzles like rain washing away the blue sky.
